Former Olympian walks bride down the aisle fifteen months after being partially paralyzed

Sports has always been about competition, but it also has an uncanny way of making us fight for victory and fifteen months after a horrific accident that left him partially paralyzed, Jamie Nieto to another step in the right direction.

Nieto promised his then fiancé Shevon Staddart (Olympic hurdler) that he would walk her down the aisle he did just that.....

Jaime Nieto 40, was coaching in California at Azuza Pacific University when the accident happened as he was celebrating by hitting a backflip and landing on his neck awkwardly. He had no feeling in his legs or feet and went through tireless treatment to make his special day one to remember.

“It’s a monumental day, so I think I need to do monumental things,” Nieto told the Associated Press before Saturday’s ceremony. “I’m definitely blessed and super happy to be here. I’ve worked really hard to get to this point, and I think it’s just the first step to many more in my recovery.”

Jamie proposed to Stoddart 6 months after his accident and his promise came full circle July 22nd 2017. He wrote on Instagram that it was "one of the greatest days of his life".
