Marshawn Lynch sits during the National Anthem
Marshawn Lynch has made headlines once again and his return to the NFL may be a bit more exciting after his silent protest while sitting during the Raiders 20-10 loss in Arizona on Saturday night.
Lynch told coach Jack Del Rio, "[Lynch] said, 'This is something I've done for 11 years. It's not a form of anything other than me being myself,'" coach Del Rio said, "I said, 'So you understand how I feel. I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem, but I'm going to respect you as a man. You do your thing, and we'll do ours.' So that's a non-issue for me."
The raiders running back sat out last season due to his retirement earlier in the year. He commented on Kaepernick's protest last season saying he supported his decision to take a stand.
Is this the perfect example of status trumps punishment? Lynch will be ready to go week 1 while Colin Kaepernick remains unsigned.
