CB Brandon Flowers to Announce Retirement Tuesday

Former San Diego Charger and Kansas City Chief, Brandon Flowers, is set to announce his retirement today at the age of 31. He finishes his career with 21 interceptions and 110 passes defended.

Flowers started his career as a talented second round pick by the Chiefs where he played for 6 seasons; racking up 17 interceptions. He was viewed as one of the better corners in the game during that period and had great zone coverage skills. During training camp in 2014 he was a surprise cut by the Chiefs.

The Chargers, in need of secondary help, pounced at the chance to grab a top tier corner. Flowers burst back onto the scene that year as he took his vengeance on the AFC West for his release. He caught 3 interceptions and was a key leader in their secondary.

Flowers did not get a lot of recognition due to playing on the west coast but he was a solid corner for the majority of his career. It is no surprise to see him retire here after having a concussion last season and suffering through injuries the past two seasons.
