Bucs Future?

Is this the face of a Super Bowl MVP?
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports reports that Jameis Winston will be the starter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lovie Smith who took the Bears to the Superbowl in 2007, and lost to the Colts is confident in his new starting quarterback. "Jameis Winston will be our starting quarterback," Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith said Friday. "He'll take first reps tomorrow. We're excited about that." “It’s what we already knew, what we saw in camp, what he has done on and off the field here.” Lovie Smith, (Yahoo Sports)

Lovie Smith has been a great coach in the NFL. He has been one my favorite coaches to watch, and that is partly due to his friendship with Tony Dungy. The problem with Lovie is he never had a quality quarterback. He never had a Peyton Manning to work with like Dungy had on the Colts.

Lovie had Rex Grossman in 2007 and did wonders with him. I believe that if Jameis Winston can be great, the Bucs could be back in the Superbowl. I know the fan base deserves another appearance. 2003 was a long time ago and they just flat out crushed the Raiders 48-21.

I will be very interesting to watch this team grow, and I will be rooting for the Bucs. I hope they have a franchise Quarterback. I love underdog stories and this could be a great one! Let me know what you think of the Buc's future.
