Dodger Nation

Welcome to the Dodgers.
Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

The Dodgers fortified their pitching rotation today acquiring Mat Latos from the Miami Marlins. The Dodgers said they wanted to be like the Giants and now with a great pitching rotation and bench depth in Michael Morse they are on the right track to a World Series win. Mat Latos can really break through and he has been solid lately.

"The 27-year-old Latos was traded to Miami by the Cincinnati Reds this past offseason and has gone 4-7 with a 4.48 ERA in 16 starts with the Marlins. But the right-hander has posted a 2.96 ERA in seven starts since returning from the disabled list in early June and has been outstanding over his last three starts, with a 1.80 ERA over that stretch". The Giants really need Cole Hamels, or David Price now if they want to stay competitive in the tough N.L West. I would be stunned if they can beat the Dodgers in a seven game series. The problem for the Dodgers in the postseason has been the lack of pitching depth and today they acquired it and they still may have another move up their sleeve.

The Marlins are the losers in the trade and they really don't get much better without Latos and Morse. The basically just got finicial relief and if I was a fan of the team. I would be upset at this uncessary trade they finally looked like they compete next year. Back to the Future had the Cubs and Marlins this year. Now that is ruined and Marlins will continue struggling they even gave a draft pick of all things to the Dodgers the number 34 pick to be exact. (ESPN) News service

The trade deadline is very exciting and it will be interesting to see who makes the biggest move. Cole Hamels could be traded today or tomorrow. The moment it happens I will break down, but for now let me know what you think are the Dodgers the World Series favorites to win it all.
