NFL versus the New England Patriots
The NFL had another conspiracy theory debunked. ESPN was wrong and now Bill Belichick is disappointed in the NFL. "I think overall it's kind of sad, really, to see some stories written that obviously have an agenda to them with misinformation, anonymous comments," Belichick said, via Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal. "Writing about warm drinks and trashcans, stuff like that. I think it's sad commentary and really, gone to a pretty low level. Sunk pretty deep.
"First of all, I would say I think our program here is built on competition and trying to improve every day. It's not built on excuses. We just try to go to work and improve and find a way to get better... "All the great players that played on those teams...to take away what those teams accomplished ... it's just not right ... I'm not going to get in a back-and-forth ... but that's just how I feel about it. (NFL.com, Kevin Patra)
Now here is the problem the NFL and Roger Goodell is guilty, but keep in mind the Patriots aren't innocent either. Money corrupts everyone and yes Brady did win in court, and I am stunned it read just like a John Grisham novel. The underdog overcome and know he is free to play. I thought he would lose and it turned out there wasn't enough evidence.
Regardless of being freed from Deflategate you still have Spygate in the back your mind. Here is the problem with the Patriots they take advantage of the rules, and that is technically cheating. The problem is the NFL can't punish it and that is very disappointing. Did Roger Goodell go to far in the suspension? Probably, and should he have kept the Videos from Spy Gate that isn't even a question.
You have to hypocritical rich organizations the NFL led by Roger Goodell, or as Papi calls him, "Fidel." On the other side of the ring you have Robert Kraft and the Patriots the golden child of the NFL. Goodell knows that New England and Tom Brady help the ratings of the league. Robert Kraft and Goodell are probably enjoying the rating surge in the NFL. You imagine the opening night without Tom Brady, and it wouldn't surprise me if the NFL purposely caused the wires to break and give the Steeler's the Patriots radio waves over the headset.
Why because controversy sells and brings dollars. The next Patriots game will have even better ratings. Why do you think Buzzfeed is so popular? They use intriguing headlines and sometimes make you think their is a controversy. TMZ and Tabloids utilize the same strategy. They media eats it up and it is the easiest sell; humans love gossip and want to know what is going on.
I think that Bill Belichick loves what is going on deep down. He is very smart business man and he knows this best thing for the Patriots. The Patriots have never been more talked about in the media. I hope the NFL and the Patriots can make peace and that we can return to the NFL being on.
Sincerely,
