The Curry Rules

Stephen Curry is clutch from three!
Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-118. It was a very exciting Saturday Night Prime-Time game on ABC. However, one thing that bothered me is the growing egotism in Stephen Curry. He really needs to calm down. He will rub people the wrong way if he doesn't change.

Last Year he seemed very humble and down to Earth and helped the Warriors win their fourth NBA title over the Cavaliers. Their first title since 1975 which was a great accomplishment. Yet, now he feels he needs to shimmy at every three that falls. While, it is great he set the record for the most three's. He is turning into the Cam Newton of the NBA. The 2014 Spurs decimated the Heat in five games. They even had a half were they scored 70 points. However, they acted professional and went about their business and celebrated after they won title.

People think because the Spurs are humble they are boring. While, the Warriors are cocky and overconfident is considered exciting basketball.  Steve Kerr should know better he played alongside Michael Jordan and had a great coach in Phil Jackson. Michael Jordan revolutionized the game. He had to beat the Bad Boy Pistons. The 30 for 30 the Jordan Rules was very eye opening. Michael Jordan won six championships that is impressive.

People need wait before they compare Curry and say he is better than Jordan. Bill Russell won eleven championships and is the best center of all time. Kobe Bryant has five championships and people say Curry is better than him. I think people need to calm down a little with the Curry hype. Is he the best three point shooter of all time? He might be in the top five. However, I still think Ray Allen is ahead of him.

Ray Allen has something that Curry lacks intimation. I remember game six of the NBA  Finals and he beat the Spurs it was a real gut punch. I will never forget that and I am so happy the Spurs won their fifth title one year later. This is why Curry needs to calm down a lot can change in the next five years. He is already 27 years old and entering his prime. He may go on and three peat but can he do twice? Not even Kobe could do that feat so we need to give Stephen Curry time.

I think as a basketball fan we should enjoy the moment. He is fun to watch. I hope he humbles himself once again and if he wins the title that will be great for him and the Warriors franchise. If you read this Stephen Curry you are great at shooting. I hope you keep having fun but remember their is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Tonight, you slightly crossed it. I don't want you to become another Kobe of this generation. I wish the Warriors the best of luck going forward and think their organization has done a great job at drafting players and they are having a magical NBA Season.

Sincerely,
