2017 NCCAA Division I Basketball National Championships: Championship Saturday

The day got started with a matchup between Grace College and Emmanuel College.  This game came down to the final shot at the buzzer to end regulation.  Grace College was lead by double-doubles from Erik Bowen (27 points, 12 rebounds) and Logan Godfrey (10 points, 12 rebounds).  Zach Lillie lead Emmanuel with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

As a team, Grace College only shot 57% from the free throw line and 23.5% from behind the arc.  

After a questionable call that resulted in a backcourt violation and a Grace College turnover, Braxton Linville got a steal and dished a pass to Stephen Halstead in the lane for a layup to put Grace up 78-77 with just over 10 seconds left.  Austin Greene hit a lay-up with less than 7 seconds on the clock to retake the lead for Emmanuel.  With time expiring, Erik Bowen took a three-pointer that ended up missing off the rim.  Emmanuel ended up with a victory over Grace College and will be taking the 3rd place trophy back to Georgia.

Emmanuel's Zach Lillie and Grace's Erik Bowen were both named to the NCCAA All-Tournament team.

Colorado Christian clinched their second NCCAA National Championship in the past three years with a 83-74 victory over Ohio Christian.  The OCU Trailblazers made it a thrilling game after a magical comeback that came up just short.  

Ty McGee lead Colorado Christian with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists.  Brett Brady lead the Cougars in scoring with 20 points.  

Marquis Jackson lead Ohio Christian with 29 points and 4 assists.  Jackson was also named to the NCCAA All-Tournament Team.

Dimitri Saliba of Colorado Christian suffered an injury late in the National Championship game, but still finished with 7 points.  Saliba was also named most outstanding player of the tournament.
