Friday Night Ice

Congratulate your eyes for looking at this, they made a great choice. Welcome to the first installment of a thing I’m calling Friday Night Ice.  No, despite the confusion, this is not a script for an ‘on ice’ adaptation of the high school football soap opera Friday Night Lights. This is a summary of all Friday Night NHL games. Where I go Back to the Future, steal a sports almanac and give you the deetz (slang for details). Tonight we have six games on the docket and there’s bound to be a lot of scoring as four of the top ten scoring teams of the 2016 - 2017 season hit the ice.

Blackhawks vs Devils

With Towes and Kane back on the same line I think the Blackhawks win by 2. Although if a Blackhawk and Devil were to actually fight, I’d put my money on the Devil.

Rangers vs Hurricanes

Rangers keep rolling by weathering the storm (see what I did there). You don’t find quality puns like that on ESPN.

Senators vs Flames

Bobby Ryan who was previously listed as Day-to-Day should be back in action tonight. I like how the Senators are looking, but if the Flames young talent can work together it’s possible they get burned.

Jets vs Avalanche

If an actual Jet got stuck in an Avalanche the pilot would have some serious explaining to do. With two games on Colorado and meeting them away on the road, I’m sorry to say the Jets will fall to the Avalanche tonight. It will be exciting to see the debut of rookie Mikko Rantanen as Colorado enters only their second home game this season.

Oilers vs Canucks

The Oilers continue to impress me and I assume they will keep my admiration tonight with a win over the Canucks.

Blue Jackets vs Ducks

The Ducks trounced the Predators 6-1 on Wednesday, not only ruining my Wednesday Night Rivalry prediction (those A-holes) but also giving the team the surge of energy it needed. If only they could do the same when playoff season comes (don’t hold your breath Anaheim fans).
