This Week Marks A HUGE Matchup In Major League Baseball And With The Trade Deadline Looming In Just a Couple Of Days This Could Mean A lot.

The Series I Am Talking About Is The Series Between The Chicago Cubs And St Louis Cardinals, The Series Is In St Louis. Both Teams Are Tied Atop Of The National League Central And Whoever Takes This Series Could Be In The Drivers Seat.

And Yes I Have Not Forgot About The Milwaukee Brewers Who Are Only One Game Back And They Have To Battle The Oakland A's And The A's In a Battle For The American League Wild-Card Themselves, And Yes They Are In Contention. But The Main Talk Is The Cubs-Cardinals Starting On Tuesday.

And Now I Have a Special Preview Of The Pitching Matchups Of All Three Games On Tuesday, Wednesday And Thursday. And Yes All Three Games Are At Busch Stadium.

The Pitching Matchups..

The Tuesday Matchup..

The Tuesday Matchup Is An interesting One Because It Features Two Pitchers That Either Have It Or They Don't.

CHC: Yu Darvish, Yes Darvish Leads The Team In Strikeouts With 132. However He Has a 3-4 Record As a Starter And Has An ERA Of 4.54. And In The Last Days His ERA Has Been 6.00, YIKES!!!!

STL: Adam Wainwright, He Has a Respectable 98 Strikeouts This Season, My Concern Is the 7-7 Record. But He Has An ERA Of 4.63. But In The Last Seven Days Wainwright's ERA Has Been 7.20, HOME RUN DERBY ANYONE!!!!!

The Wednesday Matchup..

The Wednesday Matchup Promises To Be The Same As Tuesday, However Both Pitchers Are Having a Decent Season.

CHC: Kyle Hendricks, He Will Get The Start And He Has 100 Strikeouts On The Season. Hendricks Has a 3.26 ERA. And Despite The 7-8 Record Hendricks In The Last Seven Days Has An ERA Of 1.50, So Yes He Could Be Guy On Wednesday.

STL: Miles Mikolas, He Could Be The Next Wild Thing, And Here's What I Mean. He Has An ERA Of 4.19, And That's Respectable With 87 Strikeouts To Go With That, But He Has a 7-10 Record And His ERA In The Last Seven Days Is 4.50,And That Can Be Good Or Bad.

The Thursday Matchup..

The Thursday Matchup Could Be Must See Baseball TV.

CHC: John Lester, He's The Best In The Cubs Rotation. Lester Has 110 Strikeouts This Season. Lester Leads The Team In Wins With Nine. And The 9-6 Record Could Be Very Key On Who Takes The Series. Lester Also Has 3.63 ERA And In The Last Seven Days Lester's ERA Has Been 0.00, I'm Not Joking.

STL: Jack Flaherty, He Could Be The Pitcher That Beats Lester At His Own Game. Flaherty Leads The Cardinals In Strikeouts With 131 On The Season, Yes I Know He Has a 4-6 Record, However He Does Have a 4.17 ERA. And In The Last Seven Days Jack Flaherty Has Been Excellent, How About An ERA Of 1.74.

And Now Here's The Tale Of The Tape

The St Louis Cardinals Have Three Power Hitters, Marcell Ozuna, Paul Goldschmidt And Dexter Fowler. All Three Have Been Excellent For The Cardinals Since The All-Star Break. But Don't Take The Cubs Lightly In The Hitting Department Either. Despite That Addison Russell Has Been Sent To The Minors And That We Don't Know If Kris Bryant Will Be Available Or Not Is Still Up In The Air At The Moment.

Here's What Else You Need To Know..

CHC: Team ERA 4.04, Team WHIP 1.30..

Hitting: .252/.334/.451, Team OPS .784

Kris Bryant, He's Hitting .294, And Leads The Team.

Javier Baez, He's Hitting .285

Anthony Rizzo, He's Hitting .284.

That's The Cubs Numbers.

STL: Team ERA 4.15, Team WHIP 1.30..

Hitting .244/.319/.410, Team OPS .729

Marcell Ozuna, He's Hitting .259, And Leads The Team.

Paul Goldschmidt, He's Hitting .255

Dexter Folwer, He's Hitting .250

That's The Cardinals Numbers.

Now Here's The Final Take From Me..

This Series Promises To Be a Good One. Both The Cubs And Cardinals Are Just About Evenly Matched. But The Milwaukee Brewers Are In The Thick Of It To, Don't Forget That. And Yes The Trade Deadline Is At 4:00 On Wednesday And Will That Have Any Impact At All In This Series.

In Closing I Will Say This Now. Whoever Takes This Three Game Set This Week Could Be In The Driver Seat To Take The National League Division At The End Of The Season. Whoever Takes This Three Game Set Will Have To Get a Sweep. The Pressure Is On Both The Cubs And Cardinals Because The Trade Deadline Is Wednesday At 4:00 And Both Teams Need Help If They Want To Compete For The Postseason.

This Three Game Set Starts On Tuesday Night On The MLB Network. Wednesday It Will Switch To ESPN. And On Thursday It Concludes On The MLB Network.

BOTTOM LINE And Goodnight Everybody..
