Well When The 2019-20 NBA Season Starts, The Cleveland Cavaliers Will Be Without Their Head Play-By-Play Announcer Fred McLeod. Mr. McLeod Died Suddenly On Monday Night At The Age Of 67. No Cause Of Death Was Released But The Loss Of This Wonderful Announcer Was Felt All Over Cleveland And Detroit On Tuesday.

McLeod Was a Strongsville Native, Which Is a Suburb Of Cleveland. And He Worked For The Cavaliers Organization Since 2006 As Their Play-By Play Announcer. But Before That McLeod Spent 22 Years With The Detroit Pistons, And Yes He Did Do Play-By-Play For The Detroit Lions And The Detroit Tigers During His Stint In The Motor City.

Fred McLeod's Greatest Moment Was When He Was In The Booth At Fox Sports Ohio When The Cleveland Cavaliers Won The NBA Title Back In 2016. The City Of Cleveland Ended It's Long Sports Nightmare That Year, And McLeod Was a Huge Part In The Moment. And The City Of Cleveland Ended That Nightmare With The Help Of LeBron James. McLeod And LeBron Were Dear Friends, And When It Was Announced That LeBron Was Going To LA McLeod Wished Him Nothing But The Best.

LeBron James Did Release a Statement..

" It's a Sad Day For Me Personally And I Am Going To Miss My Friend And Colleague. And It's a Sad Day All Around. My Condolences To His Wife Beth And Three Children."

The Detroit Lions Also Released a Statement..

" We Are Sadden By The Passing Of Our Former Play-By-Play Announcer Fred McLeod. He Was a Great Announcer And Had a Great Personality. The Detroit Lions Are Sadden By This News And Are Condolences To The Family."

Here Are My Thoughts..

The Passing Of Fred McLeod Is Hitting Hard All Over Cleveland And Detroit On This Day. I Enjoyed Watching Fred And His Partners In Crime On Fox Sports Ohio. I Am Deeply Sadden By This News And I Decided To Do This Because It's The Right Thing To Do. I Will Never Forget The Night When The Cleveland Cavaliers Became NBA World Champions In 2016. McLeod Was Like a Little Kid On Christmas Morning When The Cavaliers Became The First And Only Team In NBA History To Comeback Down 3-1 In The NBA Finals To Win It All.

Along The Way McLeod Made Friends Along The Way And Met Some Big Names Like LeBron James Who Would Go On To Be The Superstar For The Cavaliers In His Heyday. Now That Fred Is Gone, Who's Going To Fill The Void, I Don't Know The Answer To That Question But Who Ever Does Will Have Some Big Shoes To Fill.

Fred McLeod Leaves Behind His Wife Beth And Three Children, Sean, Jeanna And Molly.

In Closing I Want To Say This, Fred Thank You For The Memories And Thank You For Being a Part Of The Lives Of The Cities Of Cleveland And Detroit, And Thank You For Being In Our Homes During The NBA Seasons And During All Of The Playoff Runs With The Cavs And The Pistons.

Fred McLeod Thank You AND GOD SPEED.
