Royals in on Aaron Hill

After Trevor Plouffe signed with the Oakland A's over the Royals, Braves, and Red Sox; Kansas City and Atlanta are both in on another do-it-all infielder. This time, rumors swirl around Aaron Hill. Hill, entering his 13th season can play around the horn. The veteran has spent time at Third base, Short stop, and Second base. Aaron Hill has been around the league and back again. Hill has been in the Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Brewers, and Red Sox organizations.

Last year with both the Brewers and Redsox, Hill hit .262, with a .336 OBP. Hill hit 10-homers, driving in 38-runs, on 378 at bats. Hill has dug-in to the right-handers batters box at Kauffman stadium 141-times. He hit for a .240-average, with a .323-OBP. The Royals are in the market for a back-up infielder. Entering the 2017 season, the Royals have a lot of soon-to-be free agents that need to be traded if things go south. The former-All star would allow Kansas City to have roster flexibility to trade off Alcides Escobar (If anyone would take him), or Mike Moustakas, while having the drop-off in performance be cushioned. The lifetime .267 hitter, can provide a lot for Kansas City and is searching for a short-term deal this offseason.
