NFL Week 14 Look Ahead

Game of the week: Rams (11-1) vs Bears (8-4)

A possible preview for a NFC playoff game comes this Sunday night, when the LA Rams travel to Chicago to face the Bears. Both defenses have been in the top tier of the league throughout the season. The Rams have DT Aaron Donald, who leads the league with 16.5 sacks, and the Bears new signing Khalil Mack has forced five fumbles. Chicago will hope that starting QB Mitchell Trubisky will return from injury, even though second string quarterback Chase Daniel looked better than most expected the last two weeks. I am curious to see how the Chicago defense fairs against one of the best offenses, with RB Todd Gurley leading the charge. I want to say LA will win, but I believe there is a chance that the Bears can pull the upset.

Easiest win: Saints (10-2) vs Buccaneers (5-7)

I know I predicted last week that the Chiefs were going to demolish the Raiders, and that game turned into one of the best games of the week. So, I am going to continue with caution but I think the Saints will rollover the Buccaneers on Sunday. New Orleans is looking forward to rebounding from an off week, and it helps when they face one of the worst defenses this season. It seems like Tampa Bay has hopefully found a consistent QB for the rest of the season with Jameis Winston. I believe the Saints will come back with a vengeance and destroy the Tamp Bay Buccaneers.

Potential upset: Raiders (2-10) vs Steelers (7-4-1)

I know this may be the worst pick so far this season by just looking at records, but let me explain. Pittsburgh are coming off a game that they should have won if it wasn't for multiple penalties while the Chargers were taking a last-second field goal to win the game. On the other hand, the Raiders gave Kansas City a real scare, keeping the game close throughout. As of writing this, the Raiders have just signed RB CJ Anderson due to starting RB Doug Martin sustaining an injury last weekend. Keep an eye on this game, you never know what can happen after a crazy week!

I hope to see: The plot to thicken in the NFC East race

Currently, three games separate the four teams in the NFC East. The NY Giants are three games back at 4-8, the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins are both one game back at 6-6, and the Dallas Cowboys are in first with a 7-5 record after a surprise upset win over New Orleans last week. Depending on how the results fall, the division could be as far as four games apart or as close as two games. The majority is predicting that the Cowboys will outlast the Redskins and Eagles, but I have a feeling that the Eagles may pull some December magic.

Bonus: Thank god McCarthy is out of Green Bay!

Wanted to say something about this quick, because I am a Packer fan. My whole family has been praying for McCarthy to go since the middle of last season. HIs play calling at times throughout the last few years has been horrible. He would throw is on 3rd-and-short, but run it on 3rd-and-8. It never mad since. Some have criticized the Packers for not letting him coach the rest of the season, but I feel it is right. We might as well not delay the inevitable, fire him now, and start the coaching search early. And as of this morning, Green Bay has also fired LB coach Winston Moss after he tweeted about the Packers needing someone who is "lombardi quality". Chaos is erupting in Green Bay, and as a Packers fan, I am scared for our future. Reports are the Packers are looking into Patriots OC and QB coach Josh McDaniels to take the head coaching job, which could be an excellent pick.
