Is the Defensive Talent in the NFL the Best It's Ever Been?
I had a conversation the other day with somebody and they mentioned to me how if the AFC West had an all-star team, imagine going up against Joey Bosa, Von Miller, and Khalil Mack every single down. So this brings up the question does this mean that the defensive talent in the NFL is at its best than it's even been before?
There is no doubt it is. Can players like J.J. Watt, Khalil Mack, and/or Von Miller break Michael Strahan's sacks record of 22.5 in one season? Also there has been talks that Mack or Miller can reach 30, but that would be really difficult.
Other players like J.J. Watt, Jurrell Casey, Landon Collins, Aaron Donald, Marcus Peters, and Luke Kuechly also deserve some consideration as well.
Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Leonard Floyd, Muhammad Wilkerson, Ryan Shazier, Leonard Williams, and Janoris Jenkins are also pretty good.
Some rookies to keep on eye defensively this season: Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, Jamal Adams, Marshon Lattimore, Jonathan Allen, Adoree' Jackson, and Taco Charlton.
