The San Diego Padres haven't made the postseason since 2006, but they had to play a one-game playoff in 2007 in order to make the playoffs and failed. Since then, the San Diego Padres haven't been a valuable opponent in baseball for many years.

Since that is the case, how does their farm system look? What's strange is that their number one prospect MacKenzie Gore isn't projected to reach the majors until 2021. He is also a left handed pitcher. He has a 0-0 in 4 games. Gore has pitched 12 innings and has only walked 2 batters and struck out 18.

Cal Quantrill is ranked second on the Padres top 30 prospects list. He is a right handed pitcher and is projected to reach the majors next season. His record is 7-7 with a 3.79 ERA. In 97.1 innings, Quantrill has walked 30 batters and struck out 92.

Luis Urias is ranked third on the Padres top 30 prospects list. He is a shortstop and second baseman. Urias is projected to reach the majors next season. His batting average is .315 with 2 homeruns and 30 RBI's, along with 7 stolen bases.

Fernando Tatis Jr. is ranked fourth on the Padres top 30 prospects list. He is a shortstop and is projected to reach the majors in 2020. His batting average is .271 with 19 homeruns and 61 RBI's, along with 28 stolen bases.

Michel Baez is ranked seventh on the Padres top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2020. Baez is a right handed pitcher and his record is 6-0 with a 1.08 ERA. In 41.2 innings, he has walked 6 batters and struck out 63.

Joey Lucchesi is ranked ninth on San Diego's top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2019. Lucchesi is a left handed pitcher. His record is 9-6 with a 2.38 ERA. In 113.1 innings, Lucchesi has walked 26 batters and struck out 122.

Josh Naylor is ranked tenth on San Diego's top 30 prospects list. He is a first baseman and projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average is .290 with 10 homeruns and 54 RBI's.

San Diego currently has a 49-62 record. If the season ended today, they would have the sixth pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. It looks like the Padres are still a couple of years away from being relevant again.
