The Pittsburgh Pirates are having another down season since winning 98 games two seasons ago. Their farm system isn't bad but it isn't great either. With the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals being in the same division, the Pirates need to catch up in terms of organizational talent.

Outfielder Auston Meadows is the top ranked prospect in the Pirates farm system. He is projected to reach the MLB in 2017, but if Meadows isn't called up in September, he will most definitely be there in 2018. His batting average is .254 with 5 homeruns and 45 RBI's, along with 10 stolen bases.

Right handed pitcher Mitch Keller is ranked second on the Pirates top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors sometime next season. His record is 6-4 with a 2.99 ERA. In 99.1 innings pitched, Keller has walked 26 batters and struck out 92 batters.

Third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes is ranked fourth on the Pirates top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average is .276 with 2 homeruns and 36 RBI's, along with 27 stolen bases.

Shortstop Cole Tucker is ranked fifth on the Pirates top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average is .261 with 4 homeruns and 39 RBI's, along with 41 stolen bases.

Left handed pitcher Steven Brault is ranked seventh on the Pirates top 30 prospects list. He was with the Pirates for three games this season, but his ERA was 4.50. Brault pitched in 8 innings and gave up three walks and struck out three as well. In 21 games in the minors, Brault's record is 10-5 with a 1.94 ERA. He has pitched in 120.1 innings and walked 44 batters and struck out 109.

First baseman Will Craig is ranked eighth on Pittsburgh's top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average this season is .272 with 6 homeruns and 56 RBI's, along with one stolen base.

Left handed pitcher Taylor Hearn is ranked twelfth on Pittsburgh's top 30 prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors in 2019. Hearn is currently on the DL and probably won't pitch for the rest of the season. He can throw the heat. His record is 4-6 with a 4.12 ERA. In 87.1 innings pitched, Hearn has walked 37 batters and struck out 106.
