Pittsburgh Shutouts Florida

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It is very easy to get caught napping in afternoon games. The Pittsburgh Penguins avoided an afternoon nap and defeated the Florida Panthers 4 to 0.

Patric Hornqvist scored a baseball like goal in the first period for the Penguins. Sidney Crosby scored two goals in the second-period, and one in the third period to record his 10th career hat-trick. Crosby leads the league in goals with 40. He is tied with Connor McDavid for most points in the NHL with 80.

Conor Sheary and Jake Guentzel assisted on all three of Crosby's goals. How weird is that? Marc-Andre Fleury had a 21-save shutout, and it is his first shutout of the season. James Reimer made 24 saves for the Panthers.

Pittsburgh swept the season series 3-0.
