Thunder notebook: Melo to OKC; Russ signs his deal; starting 5; more

A lot has happened since the last installment of the Thunder weekly notebook. Carmelo Anthony has been shipped to OKC, Russell Westbrook becomes the solidified face of the franchise, Billy Donavon sets the starting 5, and Paul George dangles the carrot in front of the faces of Thunder fans.

Russell Westbrook signed his mega-deal signing a 5-year deal worth 205-million dollars keeping the MVP and triple double averager in Oklahoma for the foreseeable future. For the full article click here.

Thunder head coach Billy Donovan announced Carmelo Anthony will start at the 4--aka the power forward--With Russ obviously at point guard, Steven Adams manning the Center Position, Paul George and Andre Roberson fill out the rest of the OKC starting lineup. Lastly, Paul George is getting Thunder fans all excited. In multiple interviews the all-star has left the door open for a possible extension to stay with the Thunder longer than this year. He has made it known Russell Westbrook's deal will "Play a factor." in his decision.

The Thunder start their season tomorrow night against the Rockets on NBATV at 7:00 CST, at the Bank of Oklahoma center in Tulsa, Oklahoma to kick off the preseason. Oklahoma City will have another contest Friday, October 6th against the Pelicans in Chesapeake Energy Arena at 7 CST.
