How To Bet The American Conference: Week 13

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25th

Houston (-5) @ Memphis: Well, I'm sure we have all heard about Tom Herman at Thanksgiving Dinner last night. You know the players on Houston are going to be distracted by this. I just don't know if Memphis can come through.  So I am depending on the numbers.  Houston is just 4-7 against the spread this season and this is going to be the biggest crowd of the season for Memphis plus it's senor day.  With that being said, I can still see Greg Ward Jr just taking this game over and winning it for Houston.  This is a toss up, by I'll say the Houston defense and Ed Oliver comes crashing back down to Earth after their performance against Louisville. So i'll take the points. PICK: Memphis (+5).

Cincinnati (+22.5) @ Tulsa: If you have seen Cincinnati play the last two months you know there is NO way in hell they are going to cover this tonight. Since Cleveland had a 2-1 lead in the World Series, Cincinnati has scored ONE touchdown....one.  There is also a good chance this is Tommy Tuberville's final game as head coach.  Tulsa also has one of the most high powered offense in the nation. Golden Hurricane have two good running backs in James Flanders and De'Angelo Brewer.  Bearcat defense is no where near as bad as the offense, but it's not a lock down defense either. Throw in the fact that Cincinnati is 2-9 against the spread this year. Tulsa wins 42-6. PICK: Tulsa -22.5

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 26th

Central Florida (+10) @ South Florida:  The battle for I4 is heating now that both teams are actually decent.  Central Florida is very tough on defense but I just don't think they can contain the duel threat QB in Quentin Jackson.  South Florida is on a three game win streak and has won 6 of 7.  If East Carolina wins then they will be headed to face Navy in the American championship game. I just don't have much faith in the UCF offense at all. Not a very good run game and QB Mackense Milton has been way to inconsistent. PICK: South Florida -10.

Navy (-7) @ SMU: For the first time in a couple years SMU has a chance to reach a bowl game. Chad Morris has done a very good job considerig he took over the worst team in the nation two years ago.  On the other hand, Navy has already clinched up the West, but now they are ranked in the CFP ranking they have a chance to get to a New Years 6 Bowl. SMU is 8-3 against the sread and they have a high powered offense.  Mustangs will force a couple turnovers and steal the upset. PICK: SMU +7

Tulane (-1) @ UConn: Both of these team are very bad.  Tulane hasn't won a conference game yet, while UConn has one win.  Your probably wondering why Tulane is a road favorite without a conference win.  It's because UConn has Bob Diaco coaching.  Huskies have lost 5 games in a row and in their last three games they have scored a total of 3 points.  Last years game the score was 7-3 resulting in a UConn win.  Because I like what Tulane is doing with Willie Fritz I like them in this game. At least the Wave have been competitive in most of their games.  If Tulane scores 10 points they win.  PICK: Tulane -1

East Carolina (+21) @ Temple: The Owls can clinch a trip to the American championship with a win. An ECU win would put South Florida in the championship.  Owls lost their first game of the year to Army but have comeback in big way.  Temple has won their last 5 games and could be ranked next week with a win.  Temple will run all over East Carolina today with Jahad Thomas. The ECU defense in their last three games has given up 45, 55, and 65 points.  For some reason, I say they stiffen and send all time NCAA leader in receptions; Zay Jones off on a good note.  I think Temple wins, but it will be close. PICK: East Carolina +21
