Indians go up 2-1 over Cubs.
Hi everybody. Game 3 of the World Series is over and the Indians got a 1-0 decision over the Cubs on Friday Night. Indians Starter Josh Tomlin had a decent game last night. But he only pitched 4 2/3 innings he had 1 walk and only 1 strikeout. Tomlin got a decision as it was Andrew Miller who got the Win he pitched an inning and a 1/3 with 3 strikeouts. Cody Allen got the Save in game 3. He only allowed 1 hit and had 3 strikeouts on Friday Night. It was Coco Crisp in a Pinch hit situation that drove in the only run of the game. Crisp Singled to right which brought home Michael Martinez. The Indians get the win At Wrigley.
This was Wrigley Field's 1st World Series game since 1945. And it was a disappointment the Cubs couldn't get anything going in game 5. The Cubs only had 6 base runners all night. And Kyle Hendricks did pretty well. But he got a No Decision he allowed 6 hits, 3 walks But he did have 6 strikeouts. Terry FRANCONA gave the Cleveland Fans a masterpiece last night by using the Bullpen to get the job done against the Cubs on Friday Night.
Here's My take so far, This World Series has been a series to talk about so far. The Cubs have proven they can in Cleveland. And the Indians have proven that they can win at Wrigley Field in Chicago. But here's the big Question can the Cubs rebound form a 2-1 deficit to win the World Series. They have done it this postseason by beating the Dodgers in 6. So if the Cubs want to win the World Series they will have to come from behind again to win it all. The Indians on the other hand just need to do what they have been doing and that's let manager Terry FRANCONA do his job. And if he needs to empty out the bullpen and let them handle it. They have done that so far in the postseason. We will see what happens the rest of the series.
But before I go the game 4 starters are for the Indians they send Cory KLUBER to the Mound. KLUBER is 3-1 with a 0.74 ERA And he did pitch in game 1. So we will see how he does at Wrigley. The Cubs send John Lackey To the mound tonight. Lackey has a 5.63 ERA. Lackey has not pitched since game 4 of the NLCS. He's pitching on 9 days rest. Lackey could be the pitcher to watch and we will see how he does tonight.
