Indians take a 3-1 series lead.
Hi everybody. The Cleveland Indians have taken a 3-1 World Series lead over the Chicago Cubs. This comes as a result of a 7-2 victory at Wrigley Field on Saturday night. The Indians look to put it away tonight in game 5.
Cory KLUBER was Mr. Do it all last night. He pitched 6 solid innings. KLUBER allowed 5 hits, 1 earned run,1 walk and he did have 6 strikeouts. KLUBER did go 1-for-2 in the hitting department. Andrew Miller was great in relief pitching 2 solid innings he did allow 1 hit, 1 run and did have 2 strikeouts. Dan Otero did get the save. Andrew Miller did give up his first home run of this postseason. But with his 2 strikeouts he did set a new record. Miller now has 29 strikeouts, and that's a new record by relief pitcher in a single postseason. So congratulations to Andrew Miller for setting the record. John Lackey, who started for the Cubs on Saturday night in game 4 did not look good at all in a losing effort. In 5 innings of work Lester allowed 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, he did have 5 strikeouts, but he did give up a home run. And speaking of Home Runs. Carlos Santana started the Home Run parade with a solo shot in the 2nd. Jason KIPINS had a Home Run in the 7th inning. And Dexter Fowler had the only Highlight for the Cubs as he hit a Home Run in the 7th as well. The Indians lead the Series 3-1.
Here's my take, The Indians are 1 win away from their 1st World Series title since 1948. The Indians need to win 1 more game and they are going to be World Champions. And what can you say about Manager Terry FRANCONA. He has masterminded the best World Series Performance I have ever seen. The Bullpen has been the stars for the Indians and they can Put it away tonight. As for the Cubs, if they want to win their 1st World Series Title since 1908 they need a miracle. They Need to win 3 straight. That's all there is to it. Cubs Manager Joe MADDON has been out managed by Terry FRANCONA. FRANCONA has been here before he did take the Boston Red Sox to 2 World Series titles before. As for Joe MADDON he only been in the Fall Classic once when he was with the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in 5 games in 2008. So MADDON and the Cubs need help Bottom Line.
Here are the Starting Pitchers for game 5 of the Fall Classic. The Indians send Trevor Bauer to the Mound tonight in game 5. Bauer is 0-1 with a ERA of 5.00 The Cubs Send John Lester to the Mound tonight. Lester is 0-1 with a ERA of 1.69. Game 5 is tonight at 8:00 on Fox.
