Lemar Jackson of Louisville Wins the Heisman Trophy.
Hi everybody last night in New York City, It was a great night for Louisville Quarterback LEMAR Jackson as he won the Heisman Trophy. He just dominated the voting. He had 2144 points. Clemson Quarterback Deshaun Watson was a distant 2nd with 1524 points. Oklahoma Quarterback Baker Mayfield was 3rd in the voting with 361 points. Jackson got 79.5% of the vote the 5th highest in the last 50 years. On a side note the gap between 2nd place finisher Deshaun Watson and 3rd place Baker Mayfield was the largest gap in the last 70 years. LEMAR Jackson also became the youngest Heisman Trophy winner ever at 19 years, 337 days, just 5 days younger than 2013 Heisman winner JAMIES Winston. He also joins 2012 winner Johnny MANZIEL {2012} to have over 3000 yards passing and over 1000 yards rushing. If you didn't get to see it he's the presentation.
LEMAR Jackson is very deserving of the Heisman and here's why. He had 4928 yards total offense for the season. He also had 1538 yards rushing and he also had a quarterback rating of 86.6, 3rd best in the country. He also became the first player since Notre Dame Running Back Tim Brown in 1987 to win the Heisman despite losing the last 2 games of the season. Jackson also said after he won, " I did it for my mother because she was my rock throughout my life. I was nervous all night because I didn't know who was going to win it this year." Louisville Coach Bobby PETRINO also said afterwards, " Jackson made the Louisville Very proud tonight by doing something that has never before in the History of the University. And he made me proud as well."
LEMAR Jackson won the Heisman going away. Here's my take, This young man did something very special last night by bringing home the Heisman trophy. This young man did it for his mother. Jackson did thank his mom for being there for him and he made me proud. And this is an Ohio State Fan talking. But I have enjoyed what Jackson has done for Louisville So far. But this young man has a bright Future ahead of him, He has his head on straight and he has a mom who really cares about him and he has mom who kept him out of trouble all of his life. He did not get himself mixed up in any trouble and he has a great coach who really loves him not just as a Quarterback but PETRINO has said he's like another son to me. That's something for everybody to think about. Louisville has a Bowl Game coming but here's the next Question, could we be looking at the next possible 2 time Heisman Trophy winner. He has a couple of years left possibly. But the prospects of that happening are there. And that's something that everybody might want to think about going into next year.
