North Carolina Survives Tennessee.

Hi everybody, I know there was a full slate of NFL action. But we almost had a HUGE!!! upset in College Basketball. No.7 North Carolina struggled all night against Tennessee. But in the end North Carolina escaped with a 73-71 victory. And when I mean they escaped I do mean they escaped and here's why.

As you just saw North Carolina struggled all night long and I have the numbers to prove it. Kennedy Meeks 9 points, Kenny Williams 12 points, Nate Britt 11 points. Also Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks had 15 points and 9 Boards combined all night. North Carolina at one point in the game trailed by 15. Tennessee played a Fantastic game Robert HUBBS III had 21points and 6 rebounds in the game. Tennessee dominated the game all night long. North Carolina couldn't do anything right last night. The 3-point shooting for both teams was Horrible here's the case in point for both teams. Tennessee only went 3-for-13 form 3-point range while North Carolina only went 2-for-17 form beyond the ark. North Carolina only led for a grand total of 9 minutes in their win over Tennessee.

This photo of North Carolina coach Roy Williams pretty much sums up the night that UNC had. Williams said after the game " We played horrible we couldn't hit 3's at all our shooting was not there we couldn't hit anything. We won on the scoreboard and that pretty much it. We have a lot of work to do before we get into the meat of the schedule. Because conference play is coming up fast and will be here before we know it so we have a lot of work to do between now and then." Well here's something that may not have helped and that the fact that Joel Berry II missed his 2nd straight game with a sprained ankle and they don't know when he will be back in the lineup. And Berry's absence showed in the game last night. Meeks struggled, Him and Isaiah Hicks didn't do much. The 3 point shooting was a nightmare and Tennessee threw everything at them including the kitchen sink.

Tennessee has nothing to hang their heads about. Here's my take, The VOLS played their hearts out for 40 minutes on Sunday but they came up short. Robert HUBBS III had 21 points and 6 rebounds. Tennessee led by 15 at one point in the game but their young stars and inexperience came into play at the end. Tennessee hit shots in the 1st half while North Carolina couldn't hit anything at all. Tennessee will be a team to watch going forward. I know that they are only 4-4 so far this season but it's early. But Tennessee can take this game against North Carolina and say we have work to do and The conference schedule starts soon and we could be a team to watch this season. So look out in Knoxville.

On the other side of the ball. North Carolina was ranked 7th in the country. They will drop when the polls come out this week after the performance they gave against Tennessee. They only went 2-for-17 from 3 point range. Joel Berry was hurt and unable to play. Kennedy Meeks who's supposed to be the star player on the roster only had 9 points in the game Meeks and Hicks didn't do much of anything. I would drop the 2 spots that's one points a spot if your keeping score at home. Anyway North Carolina played HORRIBLE that's all their is to it. No wonder Roy Williams is gray haired as Bob Barker. Just Kidding for all of you in Chapel Hill and to all the UNC fans out their. But I can't lie about this performance that they gave last night. It was bad but they did escape I will give you that. I have a word of warning for you. You Play another SEC team as you have Number 6. Kentucky coming up in Las Vegas on Saturday. And if you play like you did against Tennessee you are going to get blown away Because Kentucky is the Hottest team in the SEC and you better have your A game because if you don't it's going to be over 5 minutes in Bottom Line.
