No.18 Butler upsets No.9 Indiana in crossroads classic.
Hi everybody. The Butler Bulldogs have proven to me they are no longer a Cinderella team. They upset the Indiana Hoosiers 83-77 on Saturday. Kelan Martin had 28 points along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists
as he was the hero in this upset victory. 2 other players had major supporting roles as well. Andrew CHRABASCZ had 14 points along with 3 rebounds and 4 assists. KAMAR Baldwin had 14 points along with 5 rebounds. It was a great win for the team, Coach Chris HOLTMAN said to reporters after the game as he was a very happy man. He also said after the win on Saturday, " I wanted our team to play old fashion basketball because that's the way we win ballgames." Also before I forget there was one play that Butler Drew up with 15.6 seconds left in the game Andrew CHRABASCZ threw a inbounds pass to Tyler Lewis and he handed it off to Tyler WIDEMAN and it was WIDEMAN who scored the winning Slam Dunk that Iced the game. Butler Knows how to win Ballgames now. Since the loss to Indiana State The Bulldogs are now 3-0 against the top 25 and 2-0 against the top 10.
While it was a great day for Butler, It was not a good day at all for Indiana. James Blackmon Jr. was the only player that had anything good happen to him. He had 26 points along with 1 rebound and 1 assist. He was the star for the game in a losing effort. Coach Tom CREAN said after the game " this was the most depressing loss this season. We can't win a game against teams form our home state, That's embarrassing. We play well against everybody else but when it comes to our state we can't win a game." Well Indiana can't win a game against teams form their own state. They are 0-2 against teams from the state and that's pretty bad. They need to regroup now. Here's my take on the Hoosiers, they have Delaware State at home. And that starts a easy schedule of non-conference teams they play. The next Big Challenge is on New-Year's Eve against Louisville and that game is going to be at Assembly Hall. So Indiana can use the next 3 games to regroup and think what they can do Against Louisville. Indiana has a lot of work to do because Big 10 play starts very soon and I picked them to win the Big 10 conference and the Big 10 Tournament and they need to prove a lot to me if they want me to stick with them for the Conference championship.
Now here's my take on Butler. They are no longer a Cinderella team. They are now a team that everybody need seriously. Butler basketball Is back on the map in a big way. Coach Chris HOLTMAN said "we are now a team that can make some noise when it comes close to March Madness." Well Butler is 3-0 against the top-25 and 2-0 against the top-10. Butler next victim is going to be Vermont as they are at home on Wednesday Night. Butler is now 10-1 and they are only behind Creighton and Villanova for the Big East lead as they start conference play In a couple of weeks. So I am going to say this now. We could be talking about another team from Indiana possibly taking a shot at the Final 4 and winning it all. I now it's only December, But March is going to be here before you know it. So this goes to Indiana and Butler. The both of you need to just stay in contention for the conference tournaments and just Keep winning. For Indiana you have 3 easy teams ahead of you. But you have Louisville on New-Year's eve so you need to get some good wins and this would be a great win if you can pull it off. Now as Butler goes, Just keep winning you have a Vermont coming up at Home on Wednesday night. You Just need to keep winning and keep pace with Creighton and Villanova because you are only 1 game out of the Big-East lead and you could be a team that can make some noise in this 2016-17 college Basketball season. And in closing, this goes to everybody BUTLER IS NO LONGER A CINDERELLA TEAM.
