After BIG 12 Rejection, The Group of 5 Must Unite

If Fox Sports or ESPN had anything to do with the BIG 12 not adding Houston & BYU; hopefully, some media outlet will expose their evil deed. In the public eye, it makes no sense for The BIG 12 not to add these two programs. Does BYU have some religious code of honors that they won't break? Yes, but what does that have to do with football? Too many times people want to bring Race, Religion, and Politics in a sport that is suppose to be an avenue for people to get their minds off of those things. Now, Mr. White Jack does not know the academic standards required to enter the BIG 12, but from a football perspective, the BIG 12 really made a huge mistake in refusing to accept Houston & BYU into their conference. The BIG 12 is a conference that is seeking respect. You just can't rely on 1 or 2 teams (ie. Texas & Oklahoma) to make your claim as a strong conference. A conference is not strong just because you have 2 good teams, a conference is strong when you have teams that are capable of playing in The College Football Playoffs and a New Years Six Bowl. There is no such thing as a best conference in college football. No way in the world can the SEC East compete with the best from the ACC, BIG Ten, & PAC 12. you can't call yourself best conference just because you have one team that has won championships for you, because if that one team constantly dominates the conference, that means that one team is not facing any competition, and if that one team is not facing competition that is a reflection on how bad that conference is. Anyways, Houston and BYU have a great opportunity to make the BIG 12 regret. Now is the time for the Group of 5 to stand up and say enough! Listen Group of 5, Time after time, The Power 5 take away your good coaches; time after time they pay you money to travel to your school and treat the match ups like pre-season tune up games, time after time they overlook you. Now is the time for you to rise up together and form your own league that could emerge into a potential Power 6. For example, You take the top teams from the Group of 5 based on football success between now and the last 5 years, split them into divisions and form a conference. Now, these teams must have proven between now the last 5 years that they are capable of competing against the Power 5. Now, Houston & BYU are not the only ones who have been dawged by The Power 5 for years, look at Boise State. Now, from a football point, it was a huge slap in the face when the PAC 12 brought in Colorado and Utah in instead of Boise State. This is a team that has proven in the past decade that they are better than at least 10 of the members of that conference. How about Appalachian State and East Carolina? Those are programs that have played just as good as Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Louisville,  but they were overlooked by the ACC. Look at SMU, what's the difference between them TCU, and Baylor talent wise? Group of 5, now is your time to say enough! Now is the time for you to say "we will no longer try to join you"...we will compete against you and we will beat you when we play against you. This new Group of 5 conference could emerge with so much power that could lead to the fall of the BIG 12. Now, not everybody can be part of this new conference, just those that have proven between now and the past 5 years that they are capable of competing against the power 5. Now listen, Mr. White Jack is just a blogger, therefore your not reading this from an expert, this post is just to spark dialogue. Now check out this idea. The name of this new conference can be called "The New Generation Conference (NGC)" with a motto that states "Respect My Name." or "No Turning Back" or "Win The Lost at All Cost." Now as for the last motto, who is the lost? Well, the lost could represent the pain fo defeat, the pain of being overlooked, the pain of not getting accepted into the Power 5, and with this New Generation Conference, this league will be fighting to seek vengeance from all of those lost years. As stated earlier the teams that should be part of this league are teams that have proven that they can compete against the Power 5 and not programs that have just risen in the past 2 years. Now, before naming the picks for this new conference, let me just state that this should be a 12 team conference, nothing more and nothing less, just 12 solid teams that are capable of competing against the Power 5 or are on the upside of competing against the Power 5.
