We are less than three days away form Super Bowl LIV and the San Francisco 49ers have the Rookie of the Year on the team. Nick Bosa, was named rookie of the year on Thursday and he was happy but still thinking about the task at hand. The Bosa brothers, are the only brother combo in NFL history to win the Rookie of the year, Nick's brother Joey, won in 2016.

Nick Bosa, was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2019 and the 49ers misfortune of one year ago has diminished drastically. The 49ers were 4-12 last year and the prize was Nick Bosa out of Ohio State.

The former buckeye amazed the 49ers and the fans with his play on defense. Bosa had 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one interception, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. That in my opinion is note worthy and the Chiefs may have their hands full in the Super Bowl, I'll get to that in a minute.

The other finalist for rookie of the year were as follows.

Kyler Murray

Miles Sanders

Josh Jacobs

A.J. Brown

Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer released a statement, which says in part. " I am so happy for Nick and what he's done in the big leagues and I wish him luck on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs."

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said this. "I wanted to see Ohio State be represented in the Super Bowl in the right way. Nick Bosa is the man to do it. I do wish him the best of luck on Sunday in the Super Bowl."

Joey Bosa had this to say about his own brother. " I'm so happy for him now we both have been Rookie of The Year, Let's bring it home for the Bosa family, Go Nicky."

Nick Bosa himself, he has remained quiet throughout the week in Miami limiting his time out and about, He did say however. " I want to thank all of the fans who bestowed this honor upon me and I thank you, now it's time to think to Sunday against the Chiefs."

Here's my take..

I am so happy for Nick Bosa, excuse the Ohio State fan in me. But Nick Bosa did have a fantastic season. Look at what he's done in his first season in the NFL. He just picked up right where he left off when he left Ohio State. Urban Meyer called Bosa the " best player I have ever coached in my career.

The Kansas City Chiefs better take notice of what Bosa has done, This is where the Kansas City Chiefs will have their hands full. The 49ers defense is loaded and Patrick Mahomes better watch his back because Nick Bosa will be lurking. Travis Kelce is going to be going the long way around to get a first down if he wants to slip by.

The Chiefs are 1 point favorites going into Super Bowl LIV on Sunday. But I will say this, Nick Bosa is the best defensive player in the NFL right now and he should be considered for NFL defensive player of the year in my opinion, just look at his numbers and they tell the story.

Bottom Line..
