The Columbus Blue Jackets were down by three goals in the second-period against the Detroit Red Wings, but they never counted themselves out. Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the game-winning overtime goal for the Blue Jackets off a turnover to win 5-4.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored 3:50 into the game for the Detroit Red Wings. Cam Atkinson scored a power-play goal later in the first for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Darren Helm and Tyler Bertuzzi (power play) scored later in the first for Detroit.

Gustav Nyqvist scored a power-play goal :31 seconds into the second-period for the Red Wings. Cam Atkinson scored a power-play goal later in the second for the Blue Jackets.

Sonny Milano scored for Columbus in the third period. Artemi Panarin zig zagged through defenders and scored a power-play goal with 2:16 remaining in regulation for the Blue Jackets.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves for the Blue Jackets. Jimmy Howard made 36 saves for the Red Wings. Columbus swept the season from Detroit 3-0.

The Blue Jackets need one more point or win, or one more loss by the Florida Panthers to clinch a playoff spot for the second consecutive season. The Columbus Blue Jackets and the Pittsburgh Penguins each have 96 points. They both play each other on Thursday and the winner will most likely grab the number two seed in the Metropolitan Division.
