New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo decided to start quarterback Geno Smith instead of Eli Manning this week in a lost season. Manning's 210 consecutive started games in the NFL came to an end. Giants fans have outraged about it and it didn't matter for Ben McAdoo's squad in the end. The Oakland Raiders won 24-17.

Davis Webb was inactive for the Giants and he should have seen the field as well for the Giants in this lost season.

Early in the first, Marshawn Lynch scored on a 51-yard touchdown run for the Oakland Raiders. Lynch finished with 101 rushing yards on 17 carries and a score. He also caught two passes for 20 yards receiving.

Orleans Darkwa scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for the Giants later in the first. He finished with 32 rushing yards on 14 carries and a score.

With the Raiders leading 10-7 in the fourth, DeAndre Washington scored on a 9-yard touchdown run. Washington finished with 16 rushing yards on six carries and a score. Later in the fourth, Geno Smith threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Evan Engram. Engram caught seven passes for 99 yards receiving and a touchdown. Smith completed 21-of-34 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 13 yards on three carries and Smith was strip sacked a couple of times.

Johnny Holton caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr late in the game. Holton finished with three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. Cordarrelle Patterson was the Raiders leading receiver with four receptions for 97 yards.

Amari Cooper was out with an injury and Michael Crabtree was suspended. Derek Carr completed 22-of-36 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown.

Aldrick Rosas made a 52-yard field goal late for the Giants. The Giants failed to recover the onside kick. The Raiders then ran the ball three straight times and picked up a first down to seal it.

With this Giants loss, it is possible that this is the end of Ben McAdoo as head coach for the Giants and Jerry Reese as general manager. The next 24 hours will be interesting. The Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys (6-6) next Sunday. The Raiders will be on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs (6-6) next Sunday.
