Creighton Sufferes Huge loss in win Over Xavier.
Hi Everybody. The Creighton Blue Jays are now 18-1 in the NCAA basketball season. And they are now 5-1 in Big east play after Xavier 72-67. But it came with some very bad news. I will get to that in a second. But the players of the game for Creighton were Marcus Foster with 15 points, 2 assists and 3 steals. Justin Patton was another player of the game with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. As for Xavier they played very well as RASHID Gaston had 12 points and 17 rebounds. Trevor BLUIETT with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.
As you just saw. Creighton got out of their with a win and they are 18-1. But the Bad news came early in the 1st half as their senior leader Maurice Watson Jr. He only had 4 points and 3 assists in the game but he Left the game with a Knee Injury. And I hope and pray for the sake of the Blue Jays it's not serious as it looked because he had to be helped of the court by his teammates and taken to the locker room. Watson did share some comments and I am going to let you hear from him himself.Well to start off I just want to say to this to You Maurice. I just want to let you know that I'm praying for you and you family that this injury is not as serious as it looks. He was very optimistic about the game and his injury. He also had the support of his teammates after he went down. This guy here is the Prime example of what a team guy is about. He has a MRI scheduled for Tuesday and right now the best news I have is that there's no Ligament Damage. So there's some good news so Far.
But there's some Major Bad news. Here's my take, Maurice Watson
Jr is the leader of this team and he averages 13.4 points per game. He leads the Nation with 8.8 assists per game. So if Watson remains out for a long period of time Creighton is in trouble. And he's one of the main reasons why Creighton averages 87.6 points per game. Creighton is raked 7th in the nation Their Highest Ranking Ever and this is a Major Blow to Creighton because he's they guy who can make other teams lives miserable. I had Creighton as a final 4 team before this happened. But if he's out for a long period of time they can kiss the final 4 goodbye. They can still possibly win the Big East don't get me wrong they can still do that. But as far as going to the Final 4 that's going out the window if Watson is gone for a extended period of time. So Creighton if I were you I would pray that Watson comes back sooner than later because if he's not around the rest of the team is going to have to step up and at least win the Big East conference. But as for the Final 4 that's Long Gone.
